Report of the Secretary-General: The situation in Afghanistan and its implications for international peace and security
12 August 2004 - The present report is submitted pursuant to Security Council resolution 1536 (2004) of 26 March 2004 and General Assembly resolutions 58/27 A and B of 5 December 2003. It covers the period since the previous report, dated 19 March 2004 (A/58/742-S/2004/230), to 1 August. During that period, the Security Council also received oral riefings on 24 March (S/PV.4931), 6 April (S/PV.4941), 27 May (S/PV.4979), 18 June and 14 July (the latter two were received in private consultations).
