The United Nations C4ISR Academy for Peace Operations (UNCAP) proudly announces Lieutenant Colonel Hind Jirari of the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces as the 2025 UNCAP Peacekeeper in Focus. This recognition is part of UNCAP’s ongoing campaign to spotlight outstanding peacekeepers whose dedication, leadership, and innovation embody the spirit of technology-enabled peace operations.

Lieutenant Colonel Jirari’s journey is one of transformation, from participating in the 11th edition of the Women’s Outreach Course (WOC) in 2023 to becoming a confident peacekeeping leader and certified instructor. She acquired critical skills in C4ISR tools such as Microsoft 365, Power BI, RIOS, and radio telecommunications, skills she applied both in her national deployment role and during her service as a Military Observer with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

Her deployment to Upper Nile State was not only a professional milestone but a decisive moment in gender inclusion. She engaged directly with local leaders in traditionally male-dominated settings, building trust and strengthening mandate implementation, as evidenced by the unique value women bring to peacekeeping operations.

After returning from the field, she became a WOC trainer, mentoring and guiding participants in operational planning, digital tools, and leadership. Her personal philosophy, “teamwork makes dream work, has resonated with trainees across multiple WOC editions. She continues to inspire a new generation of peacekeepers to rise, adapt, and lead.

This year, UNCAP honours her story as a symbol of the broader impact of inclusive training programmes and the power of ICT in peace operations. Her story is not just one of personal achievement; it is a call to action for more women to embrace C4ISR training and step into leadership roles within missions.
